Oakland City University’s online Associate of Arts in General Studies (AAGS) degree gives students the opportunity to begin their undergraduate studies while laying the foundation for them to pursue a major in their field of interest. Students can apply their AAGS degree coursework toward a full bachelor degree at OCU.
While in the AAGS online degree program, students will learn key skills in communication, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities. The online program enables students to explore the same curriculum content as on campus, but through the convenient and accessible avenue of online learning. Throughout the courses, unit studies are completed each week, and discussion forums are used to interact with fellow students and the instructor.
The Associate of Arts in General Studies online degree program was created for students who wish to start their undergraduate academic studies but are not yet prepared to determine a major, which is a requirement for a bachelor degree. The online AAGS consists of 60 credit hours and can be completed in as little as two years. Each course within the program consists of five weeks of online study that involves viewing and reading online course materials, completing learning activities, and participating in online discussions.
To make earning your degree even easier, Oakland City University provides ways to reduce the overall cost and time necessary to graduate. By accepting up to double the amount of transfer credits as other institutions, and allowing students to complete previous experience assessments for recognition of applicable work experience, you can earn your associate degree online, and faster than you’d ever imagined. View the required courses listed below, or contact OCU today for more information about the AAGS program.
