If you’re looking for a versatile graduate degree, a Master of Business Administration is an excellent choice. In addition to equipping business professionals with the knowledge and skills required to advance into senior and executive management roles, an MBA program allows entrepreneurs to master the key competencies needed to launch, grow, and scale a business.
Following are a few highlights of OCU’s core online MBA program and the online healthcare MBA specialization:
General Online MBA Degree: OCU’s online MBA program offers comprehensive insights into critical business functions such as accounting, marketing, human resources, and information systems. Students enrolled in the general MBA track will also have an opportunity to hone their expertise in finance, international business, operations, and strategic management.
Online Healthcare MBA Degree: Designed for hospital and medical center administrators, as well as their counterparts in private practice, OCU’s healthcare specialization covers many of the same business topics as the core MBA. The primary differences are that this concentration examines financial management and strategic management from a healthcare perspective, and it also replaces the international business course with a healthcare quality and ethics class.
All undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered through OCU’s School of Business integrate five broad-based learning goals. These include professional capabilities, information technology and literacy, disciplined inquiry, communication skills, and ethics and morality. Six additional learning objectives apply specifically to the online MBA and MS in Strategic Management programs.
Graduates of OCU’s online MBA and online healthcare MBA programs should be able to:
Construct coherent, well-researched reports that integrate major business theories, concepts, and trends to support organizational decision making.
Identify ethical issues and apply Christian-based values when making business decisions.
Use technological and quantitative methods to conduct data-driven analyses and propose solutions to management problems.
Create effective presentations that leverage research, technology, and visual aids to educate, entertain, or persuade.
Exhibit well-developed organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Examine organizational challenges from diverse perspectives to determine optimal solutions.
Degree candidates in the online MBA program must complete 33 credit hours of graduate-level coursework. The general and specialized MBA options have eight courses (24 credit hours) in common, while the remaining three courses (9 credit hours) differ for the general online MBA versus the online healthcare MBA concentration. Students whose undergraduate coursework does not include accounting, finance, and/or statistics must complete college-level classes or Peregrine Academic Leveling Courses in these subjects before enrolling in OCU’s online MBA program.
